Alex & the Kaleidoscope Band: I'm So Glad GIVEAWAY

Multi-award winning, children's/family indie musicians, Alex & the Kaleidoscope Band, has released their 4th, already, award-winning album, I'm So Glad, that will have your little ones jamming to the music. Alex & the Kaleidoscope Band: I'm So Glad (Kaleidoscope Songs, 2012) showcases the amazing collaboration of these long time partners--Alex Mitnick (music) and Alan Bell (lyrics)--with tunes that highlight a wide variety of genres, from rock to folk to reggae to world music--all with catch melodies and rhythms that are sure to catch and keep a child's attention and parents will enjoy as well!

Here is a synopsis of the songs on I'm So Glad, taken from the press release I received:

Distinguished by the contrast it achieves from track to track, I'm So Glad constantly renews the engagement of the listeners.  The title track, a rhythmic celebration of life, incorporates the Nigerian folk song "Fum Wah Alafia Ashe Ashe" ("Give me peace, let it be so ...").  The head bobbing, call-and-response reggae sing-along, "The Tongue Song," and the hip-shaking Zydeco grooves of "Crocodile" get kids up and moving.  Taking a moment to breathe, the soothing "Water Lily" includes the Buddhist mantra "Om Mane Padme Hum." The tempo picks up again for some bouncing dance action with "Kangaroo." Young paleontologists go on dinosaur adventures with the Middle Eastern flavored "Dino Dig" and the bluesy "Tyrannosaurus."  Alex & The Kaleidoscope Band offer a celebration of their art with "Music," layering high-energy rock 'n' roll over a salsa-influenced beat, sweetened with shades of gospel from the dynamic dancing/singing duo of Najwa Parkins and Samantha Rise. More dynamic gospel singing brings I'm So Glad to a close with "Together,"  which offers a blueprint for building for building community through song.

The track list for Alex & the Kaleidoscope Band: I'm So Glad includes:
1. I'm So Glad
2. The Tongue Song
3. Crocodile
4. Water Lily
5. Kangaroo!
6. Dino Dig
7. Tyrannosaurus
8. Blue Sky Time
9. Music
10. Together

My son and I both loved the fun rhythms and lyrics of I'm So Glad, it is such an upbeat album! He doesn't ask for one particular song, he asks for the entire album!  I love the diversity of musical types that are showcased in this album, as well as the positive messages in the lyrics. This album would make a wonderful holiday gift for little music lovers (target audience is ages 1-7) on your holiday shopping list! My 5 year old piano playing, music loving son loves it!
