American Licorice Company, Natural Vines

Founded in 1914, American Licorice Company (one of the oldest candy makers in the US) has been bringing us delicious confections that we have come to know and love, including Red Vines, Snaps, Sour Punch, Super Ropes and more. The newest addition to the American Licorice family is the Natural Vines brand.

Natural Vines Brand is a line of premium, gourmet, all-natural licorice made with only natural flavors and colors from all natural sources and sweetened with molasses and pure cane syrup.  They contain NO high fructose corn syrup, preservatives, cholesterol, trans fats and they are very low in sodium. Natural Vines are currently available in Black and Strawberry flavors, both which contain natural licorice extracts. 

Natural Vines are made in the USA using an unique cooking process that delivers a soft, chewy texture and a deep, rich flavor. Each bite-sized twist have less than 17 calories each and come in a convenient resealable back that keeps in the freshness and flavor and helps with easy portion control. Natural Vines are the #1 selling all-natural licorice in the US.

I was given the opportunity to sample both varieties of the Natural Vines licorice. I love licorice and I really liked these bites--I have to admit I am not a huge black licorice face so I passed those onto a friend who does enjoy black licorice (and I am told they are really good). My 4 year old thought the Strawberry version were "Yummy!" I agree and I really liked the soft, chewy texture. We will definitely purchase them in the future--how can you go wrong with a great tasting sweet with All Natural ingredients--no artificial dyes or chemicals to worry about my child eating, too cool!  

I am hoping over time, the Natural Vines licorice will become more readily available in all stores, if you find them in a store near you--and you enjoy licorice, give them a try.
