A Father's Love Review & Giveaway

A little over a year ago, I read of David Goldman's battle to bring his son, Sean, home after he was abducted and taken to Brazil by Goldman's wife, when his book, A Father's Love: One Man's Unrelenting Battle to Bring His Abducted Son Home, was first released in hardcover, and it has stuck with me. Now, this unsettling, yet amazing and inspiring story is available in paperback as a 2012 Plume book (a division of Penguin Publishing Group).

Here is the synopsis of A Father's Love: One Man's Unrelenting Battle to Bring His Abducted Son Home, from the back cover of the book:

What would you do if your four-year-old son was abducted—by your spouse?

In June 2004, David Goldman took his Brazilian wife, Bruna, and their son, Sean, to the airport. David expected that they would be returning to New Jersey after a two-week vacation. Once there, however, Bruna informed Goldman that she was staying in Brazil—and keeping Sean.

In the courts, Goldman found himself outmaneuvered by the legal machinations of Bruna’s new husband, a member of one of Brazil’s most powerful families. But Goldman never gave up, appealing to the media and the highest levels of the U.S. government for help. A Father’s Love is the story of Goldman’s incredible five-year battle to reunite with his abducted child – and an inspiring celebration of an ordinary man’s love for his son.

A Father's Love is a must read for most every parent. It has been a story that has been with me since I read it over a year ago and reminder to cherish my own son! I couldn't even imagine going through what David had to go through, but I am glad it turned out the way it should.

I saw it on the news but didn't follow it. I think it's wrong when parents try to pull these stunts. I'm glad it worked out in the end.
