If you have been following my site for awhile then I am sure you have seen me mention how much I love HP printers. I have used an HP printer at home as well as in my office for many years now and have always been very happy with the performance and quality from them.

I am excited to share that for another year I will be part of the #HPSmartMom groups and as a result I received an HP Envy 7640 e-All-in-One Series printer.  All-in-One to HP means this is a wireless printer, fax, scanner, copier and photo printer.  The experience of setting up this HP printer was no different then the others I have done in the past...it is really easy.  From unpacking it and getting the basic settings taken care of to doing the online setup which included signing up for HP Instant Ink and loading the printer drivers, it took about 25 minutes total.  It is very easy for anyone, even the non-technically literate to get this device up and running. The touchscreen on the printer guides you through the initial set up and connection to your wireless network.  Then you can either use their mobile app or your computer to finish the set up. In my case, I used my laptop and was able to get it up and going easily.  During the set up process as I mentioned earlier you can set your printer up for Instant Ink. My previous HP printer was already set up for Instant Ink, but cancelling the service to that printer and setting up the new printer for this service was quick and easy. Since I already had an Instant Ink account, my preferences and billing and address information were already saved which made this simple process even better.

If you are not familiar with HP Instant Ink, this is a fantastic program which will help you insure that you will not run out of ink again.  All you have to do is sign up for a plan based on the number of pages you print. The plans are as low as $2.99 per month which will include the ink, shipping and cartridge recycling.  Your printer will tell HP when to send more ink. With this plan you don't have to worry about forgetting to pick up ink at your local store, HP takes care of that for you.  Plus, you can change or cancel your plan at any time, because there is no contract.  What this will do is save you money.  For example if you purchase the 50 page plan for $2.99 per month you will be spending $36 per year. Using standard sized cartridges you purchase in-store you will be spending about $132 per year, so you are saving $96! The top plan they have is for 300 pages per month at $9.99.  Your yearly cost is $120 versus about $792 in standard size cartridges, so with Instant Ink you are saving $672 per year. Plus, if you have a light printing month, unused pages will rollover to the next month. HP will only send you ink when your printer lets them know that you are running low.

As with my previous HP printer, the 7640 does a great job printing photos as well. You are able to print 4x6 or 5x7 prints. It is convenient to use in the home, office or mobile.  But this is really so much more than a printer. I encourage you to go to the MyPrintly website which should inspire you with countless ideas and tips including HP Photo Creations, HP Cards and HP Social Media Snapshots.
