According the Dave Valletta, you can keep a relationship alive and thriving by periodically taking the time and effort to prepare and present a delicious romantic meal for you significant other. He walks you through (with the help of his wife of 30 years, Denise) just how to prepare for and create that romantic meal in his book, To Romance With Love: A Cookbook for Lovers and Those Who Want to Be (To Romance with Love, LLC, 2009).

Here is the synopsis of To Romance With Love: A Cookbook for Lovers and Those Who Want to Be from the back cover:

They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, but women aren't so different. For her, it's not about the food. It's about the effort.
Marriage is like a sumptuous meal. Some of its ingredients are spice like peppers, some sweet like chocolate. One thing is for sure: a good marriage, like a good meal, takes time and preparation. Before you sigh at the thought of something else being added to your plate, take heart. This book lays it all out, from menus to shopping lists to suggestions for the little 'extras' that will make the night special. This one-of-a-kind book is everything you'll need---not just for cooking, but for creating ambiance and and setting the stage for a night of love.
Step away from the world for a bit. Close the door and leave behind work, bills, stress and everything else that would interfere with a night of delicious food and fun, and sit down at the table set for two. This book contains savory, fun-filled pages illustrated with 'love ammunition', full-color photographs of each dish, hints for a romantic night, and author anecdotes to make you smile and give you ideas of your own.
With years of cooking---and romance--experience, Dave and Denise Valletta show you how to spice up your marriage not only with with delicious recipes to whet your appetite, but tips and hints to get your hearts simmering. Each menu is titled with a romantic song to set the mood. There are suggestions for decorating the table and everything to help you make a night to remember...with many more to come!
So get ready to heat things up. Pick your favorite song or choose the menu you like. Light the candles. Pour the wine, and be prepared to receive accolades for your efforts in the kitchen. Where it leads...well, that's up to you.

This cookbook is everything it says it is going to be and so much more--the only thing missing is the sitter (for those of us with young children)! I love that the cookbook is divided into complete menus--no trying to determine what pairs well with what, granted you and always mix & match but he really does a great job putting it all together. Now these meals are not 2 minute meals (no one is going to get bonus points for those)--they take a little time, but they are not difficult--he does a great job of walking you through the recipes. I think it is sweet that each menu it titled after a romantic song and there is a verse about love on each pocket that holds the menu/recipe page and the grocery list. He even gives you some suggestions on how to make takeout romantic--lets face it, not as sexy as cooking the meal but with a little effort it can be make quite sweet and lets be realistic, some nights takeout is the way to go! And, I believe there is a little romantic in all of us--even if we don't show it very often.

To Romance With Love: A Cookbook for Lovers and Those Who Want to Be would make a great gift for a wedding, anniversary, special occasion or even for yourself so you can put together that perfect romantic meal for your significant other!
