If you have kids I am sure you know about Heelys a line of shoes that can be worn as both an athletic shoe and also a roller skate. The shoes are light weight, fashionable and of course fun!
If you have not seen a shoe, there is a chamber on the bottom that pops open allowing for the wheel to be inserted or for a plug to cover the wheel hole allowing for it to be quickly and easily converted to whatever style you child wants.
I was sent the new Heelys Socialite and love that they have more than traditional tennis shoes in their catalog. The shoe is well constructed and I am sure will take a lot and I mean a lot of use and abuse by our daughter. The sad part right now is that she is still a little too young to use the skate option, at only four she needs a little more balance before I would ever let her wear them for any extended amount of time.
You can not tell from the photo, but she is sitting by the steps that lead to our outside door, she would love nothing more than to get outside and really put her Socialite's to the test. Don't worry with our help she has gotten to wear her Heelys a few times and we will keep letting her have fun, but that worry wort that makes me a Mom just does not trust her yet.
