If you are a fan of the show Leverage which aired on TNT I am sure you were disappointed when it was decided that the fifth season would be the last. My husband is a fan of this show and he was sad that it was ending, but was happy with the 15 episodes that made up this season. Leverage: The Final Season was recently released on DVD by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.
Here is the description of this season:
“Leverage” focuses on a team led by former insurance investigator turned thief, Nate Ford (Timothy Hutton). Together, they try to level the playing field for people whose lives have been destroyed by the rich and powerful. In the final season, the team will be forced to face changing personal dynamics as the relationship between Parker (Beth Riesgraf) and Hardison (Aldis Hodge) heats up, and Nate continues to struggle with inner demons. Among their upcoming jobs, they will target a conniving shipping executive (guest star Cary Elwes); weathly scientist; an ex-hockey-player-turned-team-owner (guest star Treat Williams); a corrupt restaurateur; and a corrupt businessman (guest star Matthew Lillard). In addition, the team will once again face their nemesis, insurance-investigator-turned Interpol-agent Jim Sterling (guest star Mark Sheppard).
What my husband really enjoyed throughout the 5 seasons was how each of the 5 main characters developed. When the series began each of them were pigeonholed into their roles of mastermind, hacker, grifter, hitter and thief. As the seasons moved on each took on other roles and became more well rounded characters. This season has the Leverage team taking on some bigger jobs and have to go head to head against an old "friend". I won't give any spoilers away, but I don't think you will be disappointed with this fifth and final season. It was always fun to see how they would pull off their cons and get away with it.
You will get 4 DVDs in this set that runs 635 minutes. In addition to the 15 episodes there are also audio commentaries, deleted scenes and a gag reel. The set retails for $39.98 but I found it on Amazon for $29.96 + Free Shipping.
