My family has been to Disney World several times, but we all agree Epcot is our favorite. Epcot has something for everyone at every age. There is so much to do such as rides, entertainment and fireworks. However, even though there are many things to do, it is also the most relaxing park. Here you are encouraged to learn, discover and explore at your own pace.
A favorite for my younger children is The Seas with Nemo and Friends. This ride is a perfect pace for smaller children. The children are able to see all their favorite Nemo characters as they swim by. This ride is an indoor ride so it can be enjoyed rain or shine.
Another family favorite is Soarin. Soarin is a virtual ride that lifts you up and gives you the feeling that you are flying over California. This ride lets you experience the beautiful sites and scenery seen from above. The ride is not nauseating, but exhilarating for all ages.
While walking through Epcot you are sure to notice all the beautiful landscaping. It is truly amazing the amount of time and energy that Disney puts into making sure their parks are perfectly manicured. The bushes and trees are trimmed to perfection. The flowers grown are perfectly placed. With all of that being said, this is the park with the most photo opportunities.
Epcot is great because not only are there rides to experience but also because you can learn a little bit about other countries. Around the world is something everyone should experience at least once in your lifetime. Each country has its own section that may contain a restaurant, gift shop, exhibit, or ride to help people to explore the culture of that country. I love watching my children see firsthand, how other countries live. There are many types of food to try in each country. Of course the children loved the gift shops as well.
At different times throughout the day you can see bands of many different styles playing on Epcot’s Bandstand stage. When we were there last, I was lucky enough to see a Bon Jovi Tribute. It was a great time to relax midway through exploring the countries. I imagine it was strategically placed there for this reason.
The food at Epcot is incredible. Just about any time of food you can imagine can be found at Epcot. My family prefers a steak dinner and Epcot did not disappoint. We ate at Le Cellier Steakhouse in Canada. The steaks were perfectly cooked. Our dinner was absolutely amazing right down to the desserts. You have not lived until you have tasted the chocolate mousse from Le Cellier. However, don’t think you can walk right into this restaurant because it requires reservations.
Nothing can end a day at Epcot like the Illuminations: Reflection of the Earth. This was not just fireworks to end the night. This was a story with lights and fireworks that is supposed to tell of the journey of the earth. I can assure you that there is nothing quite like this evening show. Perfect ending to a perfect day.
