National Dog Week September 20th-26th Part 3 + $3 Beneful Coupon + Giveaway

Over the past several days I have shared this post and this post to let you know that from September 20th-26th it is National Dog Week.  In case you missed the earlier posts, National Dog Week was started in 1928 by Captain William Lewis Judy with the goal of promoting responsible pet ownership and celebrate all the ways dogs served humans.  My two dogs, Chester and Checkers, a mother and daughter have been around for about 9 and 8 years respectively and I consider them to be a part of my family. In the past few weeks, Beneful did a survey and one of their findings is that nearly 96% of dog owners surveyed considered their four-legged friends as being a family member, so I am part of the vast majority.

To recap the survey 96% of those surveyed listed treats as the way to make their furry family member happiest.  90% said mealtime, 87% mentioned chewing a bone, 86% went with going on walks, 84% mentioned snuggling, 74% said fetch, 71% said their dogs riding in a vehicle, 56% like to take their dogs to a dog park, 55% answered running/jogging with someone and 48% said being brushed/groomed.

Some other interesting results came from this survey including 82% of those surveyed agreed that their dog is one of their best friends. Also, 58% agreed that their dog understand them like no human could.  There were differences based on gender though with 64% of women surveyed agreeing their dogs understand them like no human could, compared to just 50% of men.
