Having
been around since 1955, Guinness World Records has been entertaining,
inspiring, and amazing people for years and with the holidays coming
there is no better idea for a gift. The Guinness Book of World Records covers so many different things everyone will be able to find something that interests them.
The
book began from a single question. Sir Hugh Beaver, Chairman of the
Guinness Brewery, wondered if the plover was the fastest game bird in
Europe. After being unable to find a reference book with the answers he
decided to start his own book of facts and figures. So, in August of
1955, the first edition of The Guinness Book of World Records was
released, it was a Christmas best seller, and continues to be a great
Christmas gift idea to this day.
In
2007, Guinness added a new branch to their record keeping in order to
keep up with the growing technology. The Guinness World Records Gamer's
Edition, the worlds most authoritative guide on gaming records around
the world, and my sons were more than excited about the large Minecraft
section in this years edition.
Giving The Guinness Book of World Records
as a Christmas gift is pretty much tradition, and on to of that they'll
love it! Its full of daring, scary, and downright fascinating records!
It's a gift you can give to one person and the whole family can enjoy.
