Bachelor party disasters – how to avoid them
If you’ve been entrusted with organizing a bachelor party, the last thing you want is for it to be a complete disaster. There are some things that you just don’t want to happen on the day; lost guests, humiliated guests, fights, arrests and a missing bride and groom are pretty much all no go areas. The question is, how can you avoid disasters at a bachelor party?
Of course, one of the main things you need to think about is what’s going to happen at the party; click here for great bachelor party ideas. It’s not just about the idea though. You can’t avoid it; organizing a bachelor party takes a fair amount of work and dedication. If that doesn’t sound too great; just think that the fun will be worth it in the end.

The guest list from hell

Never, ever assume that you know who to invite to a bachelor party because you know “Debbie hasn’t spoken to Cat since she that thing with the red wine”, and “Seriously, aunt Lyn is the most embarrassing person you have met”. A party is unlikely to be a success if half the guests hate each other. At best it will be really awkward, at worst there will be a fist fight. Always check with the bride and groom before you invite anyone.

Watching the cost

It’s a fairly safe bet that there will be guests at the party who have a different level of income to others. The last thing you want to do is ask someone to spend half a month’s salary on an experience that may seem reasonably inexpensive to you. This means they are either going to have to invent an excuse not to attend, tell the truth and probably be embarrassed or spend the money and put themselves in financial difficulty. Obviously you can’t go around asking people how much they can afford to pay; that’s just awkward. If you have any doubts at all there are plenty of ways to organize a party or event that doesn’t cost a fortune.

The party with no plan

One vital thing to remember when you’re organizing a bachelor party is, never be that seriously annoying “whatever” person. There’s laid back and there’s half conscious and useless. It’s okay to give people a bit of freedom to enjoy themselves at the event, but it’s not okay to just go with what happens and descend into chaos. You need to have a plan for the party. Ideally this should be solid enough so that people know what they’re supposed to be doing, when and where; but not so rigid that they feel like they’ve joined the army.
Hopefully reading all of this advice will help you to side step the mistakes that can make a bachelor party memorable for all the wrong reasons.
