For me the cooler seasons are full of days spent cuddled in a blanket, with a cup of hot coffee (or tea, or hot chocolate) and reading a book. Oftentimes, my books are recommended by friends or simply bought by my husband who knows the kind of stories I am interested in reading. For some however, finding a book to read can be a problem, there are so many genres and so many authors that the idea of scouring the shelves is a bit off-putting. I have a book suggestion for you that is sure to please, A Small Indiscretion by Jan Ellison.

Jan Ellison is a mother of four, a novelist, essayist, and short-story writer. On top of all of that she is an O. Henry Prize winner for her first printed short story. Her book "A Small Indiscretion" is the perfect lazy day book, a novel that takes you on a story of desire, obsession and dealing with mistakes from your youth. Nineteen year old Annie Black leaves her hometown for a winter in London full of drinking and yearning. Two decades later she has the ideal life.
