You've Got Me by Sara Lovell

Sara Lovell says, "You've Got Me is most definitely a love letter to my son, as well as a love letter to other parents and children: to parents who sing and tell stories to their kids and to the children who flourish with joy and creativity." Her album effortlessly incorporates genres like '70s influenced pop, Reggaeton, Afro-Caribbean, klezmer, and lounge. Across her album her creative use of instrumentation is clear, in addition to her piano, ukulele, and multilayered vocal harmonies, you hear her love for interesting sounds like fingertips on a steel drum, uke bass, or her Martin 10-string tiple. The songs feature fun characters like furry alligator puppies, runaway socks, musical skeletons and flying ships, and they leave reviewers thinking its not so much that Sara is singing to children as she is reporting back from a whimsical and magical landscape she inhabits.
