Skylanders Imaginators for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and WiiU

If you have been following my site for a few years, then I am sure you know that my daughter is a huge fan of the Skylanders series of games from Activision. My daughter got into Skylanders with the release of Skylanders Giants and her love of this series has continued with the current version of the game which has come out recently and is called Skylanders Imaginators.



The newest development with this game is that the player can create their own Skylander! My daughter could not wait to try out this new feature and she spent a lot of time finding just the right combination until she was ready to try it out on missions.  With the ten battle classes combined with the ten Elemental Classes plus more than 1,000 creation pieces, the combinations are almost endless to create a new Skylander. The player puts the Imaginite Creation Crystal on the portal and then selects the battle class of their Skylander, chooses the weapons and gear it will use, picks its personality and more.  My daughter had the most fun choosing the spoken catchphrase for her Skylander. There are so many combinations of the beginning and end of the phrases and new ones can be unlocked by completing more missions. Making changes to the created Skylander is easy which is something my daughter has done a number of times already, just making minor tweaks to improve its performance in the game and more.

The world created in Skylanders Imaginators is so vast. There are so many activities for the players to take part in, it would be hard for them to get tired of this game. Of course they can go on missions as in the other games. In this game, as it is described on the case, Kaos is back and he has discovered the ancient power of Mind Magic and is using it to create an unstoppable army of Doomlanders. Eon is calling upon all Portal Masters and Skylands' greatest mystic warriors, the Senseis, to stop Kaos and his minions. Now, you must use the power of your imagination to create your own Skylanders to battle in the ultimate adventure alongside the almighty Senseis to save Skylands.

If the player wants to do something other than go on missions, they can spend time creating their own Skylander, go into Arena Battles, visit the Skylanders Academy and if they enjoyed the racing aspect of Skylanders SuperChargers, can go into Racing Mode. 

What I have always appreciated about the Skylanders series is that all of the previously purchased Skylanders figures can be used in this game.  Of course there are more than 30 new Imaginators Skylanders figures that can be purchased.  I should note that the Starter Pack comes with the game, a new portal as well as 2 Imaginator Skylanders and a Creation Crystal. 

This game is available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and WiiU. Plus, there is an app that can be downloaded so that the player can still have fun with the Imaginators while they are away from their gaming console.  This game is rated E10+ for cartoon violence and comic mischief.
