If you or someone you know is an aspiring filmmaker or are just looking for a really fun experience, I have a great contest for you to enter; the Goldfish Tales Animation Experience. This is a contest announced by Pepperidge Farm that wants you to create and submit your own stop motion movie using Goldfish Crackers.
If you are interested in entering this contest, the above video is a great resource. It shows very well what you need and some tips to make a great movie. This video and some other great information about the contest can be found at the Goldfish Smiles site. This contest runs through February 27th so you still have time to make your own movie and enter.
We received a box of supplies from Pepperidge Farm and this seemed like a great daddy-daughter project so my daughter and husband watched the how to video above and started working on their entry.
As you can see, they took the box that the supplies came in and created an ocean/coral reef scene. They used modeling clay, fake snow and pipe cleaners as well as the packing material and box for the Goldfish to swim in. This was their first movie and they are talking about making another movie to enter in the contest. The movie you can create can last up to 1 minute, which based on my daughter and husband's experience, would take a lot of shots to make, but would make for a fun and challenging experience.
