If there is ever a way to get closer to my heart, it is through cartoons that I enjoyed through my youth. Back... WAY back in time before Nickelodeon got rid of all the fantastic and fun shows, there were shows that kids actually loved to watch! Shows that kids would actually rush through their homework for so that they had the whole timeslot free of worry! Is it just me? Okay, So maybe kids still enjoy the shows that you can find on Nickelodeon today, perhaps I am just a little upset that shows from my youth cant as easily be enjoyed by the younger generations as they used to, shows like Rugrats for example! Apparently, Rugrats can be found on TeenNick's daily 90's TV block "The Splat". Who knew?
Rugrats is a show that is remembered by millennials (and maybe some a smidge older) as one of their favorite childhood TV shows. The episodes (for the most part) are told from the perspective of a group of adventurous and imaginative toddlers, although I believe there may have been a few told from the parents perspective, and even the dog at one point... I could be wrong. Led by Tommy Pickles, (the bald baby sporting a blue tee and a diaper) the gang manages to turn all of their outings into amazing journeys to far off lands like the Sahara desert, a jungle trek, and even a prehistoric fantasy world! When the group works together there is no adventure too big and no problem they can't solve, after all, a baby's gotta do, what a baby's gotta do! Seasons 1 & 2 can be found spread across 2 sets, and 6 DVDs, featuring the following episodes:
Season 1
- Tommy's First Birthday
- Beauty Contest
- Ruthless Tommy
- Grandpa's Teeth
- Real Or Robots?
- Weaning Tommy
- Reptar's Revenge
- Stu-Maker's Elves
And many more...
Season 2
- Toy Palace
- Chuckie Versus The Potty
- Angelica's In Love
- Reptar On Ice
- Visitors From Outer Space
- Spike The Wonder Dog
- Runaway Angelica
- Game Show Didi
- Tooth Or Dare
And many more!
IF you are looking for a slice of your childhood, or to introduce your children to one of the best cartoons in history (might be a personal opinion) then Rugrats is the show you need to be watching! Both seasons are now available on DVD, so be sure to put in for your vacation time, so you'll have enough days for the unavoidable binge session that's going to happen.
