Do you have active children? Have you started a new exercise program or recently changed up your old one? Are you accident prone, like I tend to be? Well, ACE brand from 3M has the perfect products for you to keep on hand for all those boo boos that may arise!  To treat injuries, such as bumps, bruises, strains, sprains, insect bites, toothaches & simple headaches--you want to immediately apply ice to reduce the swelling & to reduce the pain. Once the swelling has gone down, you may want to apply heat therapy to reduce pain & to promote healing, additionally heat therapy works great on muscle aches, tension, stiffness, cramps & arthritis. ACE brand has provided us with some great options for apply ice & heat therapies--as well as things like braces, wraps & more.

I was sent 3 different ACE brand products to check out. The first is the Large Reusable Cold compress--place in freezer for at least 2 hours prior to use. It is covered with a soft touch fabric & it remains flexible after freezing so it conforms to whichever area of the body that you might need ice applied to. I really like the large size for an adult sized boo boo.

The next product is the ACE brand Instant Cold Compress, this is a single use version but the great thing about it is that it can be taken with you almost anywhere, and with a squeeze & a shake you have a ready ice pack. Perfect to keep in your car, in your hiking & camping supplies, and at the sports fields  for those bumps, bruises, strains, sprains & insect bites that are bound to happen.  I used one today, when my child bumped his mouth while sledding and it worked great. I was glad that I had it on hand and could access it quickly!

I also got to try out the reusable Hot & Cold Compress. The cold directions are similar to the reusable cold compress--freeze for 2 hrs before use, but the great thing about this compress is that you can also use it for heat therapy. I like that this product came with detailed instructions on when to use ice & when to use heat therapy. I also liked that it came with its own wrap, so you don't have to fight with keeping a towel wrapped around it. I used this compress as heat therapy for some cramping and it worked great.

I think it is important to apply ice to injuries as quickly as possible to help decrease the swelling & pain to allow healing to start faster. I love that ACE has some great options for helping us out with this. My reusable cold compress is back in the freezer, the hot/cold one is in my first aid kit and I have the instant Cold compress on my shopping list so I can get one to stay in my emergency car kid kit (you know, all the necessities you need on hand, just in case, when you have children).

Please, read the instructions completely and do not use for longer than recommended or if you have problems with poor circulation without consulting your personal physician. Also, this does not replace the need for emergency treatment if needed (when in doubt, check it out).
Thank you to LaForce & Stevens for my samples used in this review and to Michelle for sharing her honest opinions of this product.
