If there is one television channel I have on a lot in my home it is Disney Junior. Disney Junior started in February and it keeps getting more and more popular. The only drawback I have with it is that it is only on from 3 AM-1 PM CST during the week and 3 AM-8 AM CST on weekends, but that is changing soon!
Disney Junior has announced that in early 2012, it will have its own 24-hour channel!
One of my daughter's favorite shows is Jake and the Never Land Pirates. She is not the only one thinking this show is great-it is now the cable's #1 series for Boys ages 2-5. When she hears the theme song, she immediately jumps up and starts singing and dancing. She is really into pirates because of this show. She even has an eye patch, bandana and earring that she likes to wear while she watches. Coming December 2nd at 7:30 AM CST is the special holiday episode with the titles "It's A Winter Never Land!/Hook On Ice".
Thanks to Disney Junior I was sent a preview copy of this episode. To say it was a hit in my house is an understatement. We popped it in the DVD player this weekend and it pretty much ran non-stop.The episodes show Jake, Izzy and Cubby getting presents that were left for them by Peter Pan as well as a tree to celebrate Winter Treasure Day. Then, Captain Hook invites Jake and his crew on a winter treasure hunt. The episodes have great themes including spending time with friends and sharing the holiday spirit.
I definitely encourage you to check out this episode on December 2nd and look for more Jake and the Never Land Pirates in January including a 45-minute special and the launch of season 2.
