I found lots of great recipes in The Christmas Table cookbook which I have tabbed to try, and so far I have tested out 3. I remember the adults having Brandy Slush over the holidays when I was growing up, but I had never made it myself--so I tried out the Brandy Slush recipe--it was very easy to make and tasted delicious, it was definitely adult approved at our Thanksgiving get-together!  Next, I was looking for something that was wholesome and delicious for getting my husband and son on their way in the morning, so I tried the Apple Cider Breakfast Oats--now I adjusted it a bit and made it in the crock-pot so this steel-cut oatmeal recipe was ready to go when we got up in the morning. My husband loved it, my son requested it without the raisins next time and it was just a bit too sweet for me, so taking our critiques, I will make that recipe again with a few adjustments to fit may family's taste buds! For dinner the other night, I made Cynthia's Zuppa Toscana--I adjusted it, because my 5 year old isn't into very spicy yet and used all mild sausage, this was a huge hit--especially with my husband (who would have loved the spicy version), he not only ate it for dinner, but then had it for a snack later that night, and then for lunch again the next day! This will definitely be a repeater!

So does The Christmas Table cookbook pass the test with me? Definitely! It may be a Christmas geared cookbook, but it will definitely be used all year long at my house!  It is sure to make a wonderful gift for those cooks/bakers/cookbook lovers on your shopping list!
